Is there such thing as "live desktop backgrounds"?

I've always wondered if there are live shots of places that can be used as desktop backgrounds like ones they use in news studios?|||Did you mean like live videos??

You can set your background to view as webpage then add like a video stream to it I suppose. Probably will affect your computers performaance.

You could design your own html page using frontpage and thus design your own backdrop this way.

GehardH is right also, if you get a video card that supports video backdropping. It is possible to video external video sources on your desktop; such as TV Card. If you search downloads.com you might find a program that will do it for you.|||My ATI rage all-in-wonder did it.

You could take tv (or video) as desktop background.|||HELL YES there is such things as a live desktop backround|||yeah get a .gif file search it up on google and those pictures move and u can set it as ur destop|||no it isn't but no yes dam hell|||Yes there are screen savers that can put an animated image as your background. Put the term live desktop backgrounds in your favorite search engin and you might come up with more results.

If you had a animated gif, you can search the internet for these to, by the way, you can set one as your background. I have the basic instructions on my own site:
