How do I get my desktop backgrounds to show up?

I just got rid of a bunch of viruses, but now the backgrounds on my desktop show up blank white. How do I get my backgrounds to show back up?|||Find that picture of your choice in your My Picture folder or on the web, right click then "Set as Background".
